Race to the End of the Earth

American Museum of Natural History, 2010

This exhibition tells the story of the 1911 race between two teams - one British, one Norwegian - to be the first to the South Pole. The thrill of adventure and scientific discovery combined with the very human drama of each teams' struggle was told using period-inspired type and original photography taken on the expeditions.

Large wall graphics were printed to tyvek material and presented like sails, while intro panels were printed to MDF to echo the wood, leather and other natural materials available to explorers of the time.
